Summer Reading Opening Program

Come see our area premier magical entertainer, Rick Deardorff, in center ring of our Circus @ Your Library. There will be
games, clowns, snow cones, popcorn and fun!
The summer reading program officially begins on Monday, June 1st. Registration can be done any day the first 3 weeks of the program.

For Kids . . .
Children can join "Be Creative!" in the
2009 Summer Reading Program
at the Veedersburg Library
Prizes will be awarded when participants reach their reading goals.
This year for school-aged children we are offering
Backpack Incentives to Build Your Own Backpack.
- Each participant can be as creative as they want in earning school supplies that they choose at the final program.
- On your reading log, every minute or page goes toward earning items such as the backpack, colored pencils, paper, folders, pencils, mechanical pencils, ink pens, glue, scissors, pencil case or box, dry erase markers, paint, index cards, gallon ziplock bags, tissues, whatever is on the school supply list up to ten items.
- There will be a variety of styles and items to choose from.
- Also, there will be other incentives you can earn to use during the summer: a free pass to the Veedersburg Pool, Hug drink from the Food Basket, and other items at fast food restaurants.
For our younger participants ages 0 - 4 who won’t be heading to school, we will have prizes for the top readers at each age level ages 1 – 4 years. The prizes will include, age level books, coloring books, finger paints, playtime instruments, puppets, and much more.
All participants will be invited to another celebration on our Library lawn with fun yard games, a delicious picnic lunch, and prize awards on Saturday, July 18th, 10:30 am – 12:30 pm.
