Friends of the Veedersburg Public Library....
  • Acquaint the public with library services and resources.
  • Enrich the opportunities available to the community by presenting speakers and programs.
  • Raise funds to purchase special books and equipment.
  • Sponsor a variety of children’s activities.
  • Receive advance notice of Friends’ book sales, special programs and other activities.
  • Receive an electronic newsletter.
  • Enjoy the fellowship gained in meetings, book discussions and the sharing of ideas as well as the satisfaction of public service.

Why the Library Needs Friends
The public library is a center for research and learning. Our library system is tax supported, but many items cannot be included in the annual budget. The Friends of the Veedersburg Public Library works to support the library.

Book Sales
A book sale is held twice a year. 

On the Friday evening before the Saturday book sale, there is a members only book sale from 5 to 6 pm. Membership dues are accepted at the door.

More volunteers are needed for help with the book sales. Volunteers work 2-hour shifts. Request more information at the book sales.

Books can be donated to the Friends by dropping them off at the Library any day.  If you put them in the drop box, be sure to label them or include a list of the titles donated.

Friends Board Meetings
The Friends of the Veedersburg Public Library Board Meetings are on the 2nd Monday of each odd numbered month (Jan., March, May, July, Sept., Nov.) at 5:30 p.m. at the conference table on the first floor. Meetings are open to all members and those wanting to join.

Thank you to our Friends for their donations and support.  18 children enjoyed story time, gingerbread cookies, and a book gift.

January 10th Friends' Minutes Outline:

Proposed purchasing 5 books for Children's department - approved

Discussed purchasing supplemental books for kits used at Covington and SEFE schools

Donation of The Gingerbread Pirates children's book in memory of Gordon Meihls, our beloved Santa and friend.

Suggested Book Sale date for April 9th at the Veedersburg Fire Station.  Big success last October.
